Martha Reeves
Martha Reeves is an American singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of the Motown group Martha and the Vandellas. Born on July 18, 1941, in Eufaula, Alabama, she rose to fame in the 1960s with hits like "Dancing in the Street" and "Heat Wave." Her powerful voice and energetic performances helped define the sound of the Motown era.
In addition to her music career, Reeves has also been involved in politics, serving on the Detroit City Council. She has received numerous awards for her contributions to music, including induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
