Marshallese language
The Marshallese language is the official language of the Marshall Islands, a country located in the central Pacific Ocean. It belongs to the Austronesian language family and has two main dialects: Ralik and Ratak. The language is primarily spoken by the Marshallese people and is used in daily communication, education, and government.
Marshallese uses a Latin-based alphabet, which was developed in the 19th century. The language features unique sounds and structures, making it distinct from other Pacific languages. Efforts are ongoing to preserve and promote Marshallese culture and language, especially among younger generations.
