Mars Volta
The Mars Volta is an American progressive rock band formed in 2001 in El Paso, Texas. Known for their complex compositions and energetic performances, the band blends various genres, including psychedelic rock, jazz, and Latin music. Their music often features intricate guitar work, dynamic rhythms, and abstract lyrics.
The band's founding members, Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López, previously played in the group At the Drive-In. The Mars Volta gained critical acclaim with albums like De-Loused in the Comatorium and Frances the Mute, showcasing their innovative approach to music and storytelling. They disbanded in 2012 but reunited in 2022.
