Maronite Patriarchate
The Maronite Patriarchate is the spiritual leadership of the Maronite Church, an Eastern Catholic Church that follows the Antiochene liturgical tradition. It is based in Lebanon, where the majority of Maronites reside. The Patriarchate plays a crucial role in guiding the Maronite community and maintaining its religious practices and traditions.
The current Patriarch is Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, who was elected in 2011. The Maronite Church is in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church, allowing its members to participate in both Maronite and Roman Catholic sacraments. The Patriarchate also engages in ecumenical dialogue with other Christian denominations.
