Maronite Patriarch
The Maronite Patriarch is the spiritual leader of the Maronite Church, an Eastern Catholic Church in communion with the Roman Catholic Church. This church primarily serves the Maronite community, which is predominantly found in Lebanon and has a rich history dating back to the early Christian era. The Patriarch's role includes overseeing the church's administration, guiding its faithful, and representing the Maronite Church in ecumenical dialogues.
The current Maronite Patriarch is Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, who was appointed in 2011. The Patriarchate is based in Bkerke, Lebanon, where the Patriarch resides and conducts various religious and administrative duties. The Maronite Church emphasizes the importance of both tradition and modernity, fostering a unique identity within the broader Christian community.
