Mark Hoffman
Mark Hoffman is a notable figure in the history of the Latter-day Saint movement, primarily known for his involvement in the creation of forged documents. Born in 1954, he gained attention in the 1980s for producing fake historical documents that he claimed were authentic, which misled many within the Mormon community.
His forgeries included letters and manuscripts purportedly written by early church leaders, which raised significant controversy. In 1985, Hoffman was involved in a deadly bombing incident related to his forgeries, leading to his arrest and subsequent conviction for murder and fraud. He is currently serving a prison sentence.
