Marine Expeditionary Units (MEUs)
Marine Expeditionary Units (MEUs) are rapid-response forces within the United States Marine Corps. Each MEU typically consists of about 2,200 Marines and Sailors, organized into a balanced team that includes ground, air, and logistics capabilities. They are designed to respond quickly to crises, humanitarian missions, and other operations around the world.
MEUs are often deployed aboard amphibious assault ships, allowing them to reach distant locations swiftly. They conduct various missions, including combat operations, disaster relief, and evacuation assistance. Their versatility and readiness make them a crucial component of U.S. military operations.
