Marine Expeditionary Units
A Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) is a rapid-response force organized by the United States Marine Corps. It typically consists of around 2,200 Marines and sailors, combining ground, air, and logistics capabilities. MEUs are designed to respond quickly to crises, providing a flexible and versatile military presence.
Each MEU is built around a Marine Battalion Landing Team, an Aviation Combat Element, and a Logistics Combat Element. They can conduct various missions, including humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and combat operations. MEUs are often deployed aboard amphibious assault ships, allowing them to reach areas quickly and efficiently.
