Marie-Adélaïde of Savoy
Marie-Adélaïde of Savoy was born on February 6, 1685, in Turin, Italy. She was a member of the House of Savoy and became the Queen consort of France by marrying Louis XV in 1710. Her marriage was part of a political alliance aimed at strengthening ties between Savoy and France.
As queen, Marie-Adélaïde was known for her charitable works and support of the arts. She played a significant role in the cultural life of the French court. Unfortunately, her life was cut short when she died on February 24, 1712, just two years after her marriage.
