Marcel Iancu
Marcel Iancu was a Romanian painter, architect, and designer, born on December 25, 1895, in Bucharest. He was a prominent figure in the Dada movement, which challenged traditional art forms and embraced absurdity and spontaneity. Iancu's work often combined elements of Cubism and Surrealism, reflecting his innovative approach to art.
In addition to his contributions to painting, Iancu was also an influential architect and co-founder of the Bucharest avant-garde magazine, Contemporanul. His artistic legacy includes a variety of works, from paintings to stage designs, showcasing his versatility and commitment to modernism. Iancu passed away on April 21, 1984.
