Mansabdari
Mansabdari was a military and administrative system used in the Mughal Empire, established by Akbar in the late 16th century. It classified officials and military officers based on ranks called "mansabs," which determined their pay, responsibilities, and the number of soldiers they were required to maintain. The system aimed to create a structured hierarchy within the empire.
Each mansab was assigned a numerical value, indicating the rank of the officer. Higher ranks received more resources and had greater authority. This system helped the Mughal rulers manage their vast empire effectively, ensuring loyalty and efficient governance across diverse regions.
