Mandrills
Mandrills are large primates native to the rainforests of Central Africa. They are known for their striking appearance, featuring colorful facial markings and a distinctive blue and red nose. Adult males can weigh up to 110 pounds and are the largest species of baboons. Mandrills live in social groups called troops, which can consist of up to 100 individuals.
These animals primarily feed on fruits, seeds, and insects, showcasing their omnivorous diet. Mandrills are also known for their strong social structures and complex behaviors, including grooming and vocalizations. Their populations are threatened by habitat loss and hunting, making conservation efforts essential.
