Maltese Cross
The Maltese Cross is a symbol associated with the Knights of St. John, also known as the Knights Hospitaller, who were established in the 11th century. This emblem features eight points, representing the eight obligations of the knights: to live in truth, to have faith, to repent, to give proof of humility, to love justice, to be merciful, to be sincere, and to endure persecution.
The cross is often linked to the island of Malta, where the knights established their headquarters in the 16th century. Today, the Maltese Cross is widely recognized and used in various contexts, including firefighting and military insignia, symbolizing bravery and service.
