Malaysian Examinations Council
The Malaysian Examinations Council (MEC) is a government agency responsible for managing and conducting national examinations in Malaysia. Established in 1975, it oversees important assessments such as the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM). The council ensures that these examinations are fair, reliable, and standardized across the country.
In addition to conducting examinations, the MEC also develops examination syllabuses and provides guidelines for schools and educational institutions. The council plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of education in Malaysia by evaluating student performance and facilitating educational improvements.
