Malawi President
The President of Malawi is the head of state and government, responsible for overseeing the country's administration and implementing laws. The president is elected by the citizens of Malawi and serves a five-year term, with the possibility of re-election. As of October 2023, the current president is Lazarus Chakwera, who took office in June 2020 after winning the presidential election. Chakwera is a member of the Malawi Congress Party and has focused on issues such as economic development, healthcare, and education during his presidency.
