Mal de Ojo
Mal de Ojo, or "Evil Eye," is a traditional belief in many cultures, particularly in Mediterranean and Latin American societies. It refers to the idea that a person can cause harm or misfortune to another simply by looking at them with envy or ill intent. This gaze is thought to bring about negative effects, especially on children and livestock.
To protect against Mal de Ojo, various amulets and rituals are used. Common protective symbols include the Nazar or blue eye charm, which is believed to deflect harmful energy. Many people also perform cleansing rituals to ward off the effects of the Evil Eye.
