Major League Lacrosse
Major League Lacrosse (MLL) was a professional men's lacrosse league in the United States, founded in 1999. It aimed to promote the sport and provide a platform for elite players to showcase their skills. The league featured teams from various cities and operated during the summer months, allowing players to compete while maintaining their commitments to other leagues or jobs.
In 2020, MLL merged with the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), which was founded in 2018. This merger aimed to unify professional lacrosse in North America, enhancing the sport's visibility and growth. The combined league continues to attract fans and players, promoting lacrosse at a higher level.
