Majete Wildlife Reserve
Majete Wildlife Reserve is a protected area located in Malawi, covering approximately 70,000 acres. Established in 1955, it aims to conserve wildlife and promote eco-tourism. The reserve is home to a variety of animals, including elephants, lions, and several species of antelope, making it a popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts.
In 1993, Majete underwent significant restoration efforts, reintroducing various species that had been lost due to poaching and habitat destruction. Today, it offers visitors opportunities for game drives, walking safaris, and bird watching, contributing to both conservation and local community development.
