Maine Governor
The Maine Governor is the head of the executive branch of the state government in Maine. This position is responsible for enforcing state laws, overseeing the state budget, and managing various state agencies. The Governor also has the power to veto legislation and appoint officials to key positions within the state government.
Elected for a four-year term, the Maine Governor can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. The Governor works closely with the Maine Legislature to address issues affecting the state, such as education, healthcare, and economic development. The current Governor of Maine is Janet Mills, who took office in January 2019.
