Maggot
A maggot is the larval stage of a fly, typically belonging to the order Diptera. These small, soft-bodied creatures are usually white or cream-colored and can be found in decaying organic matter, such as rotting food or dead animals. Maggots play a crucial role in the ecosystem by helping to decompose waste and recycle nutrients back into the soil.
Maggots are known for their rapid growth and can develop into adult flies in just a few days under ideal conditions. Some species of maggots are also used in medical treatments, such as maggot therapy, where they help clean wounds by consuming dead tissue and preventing infection.
