Madhavdeva
Madhavdeva was a prominent 15th-century saint and poet from Assam, India. He is best known for his role in the Bhakti movement and for being a key figure in the Vaishnavism tradition. Madhavdeva was a disciple of Srimanta Sankardev, who founded the Ekasarana Dharma, a monotheistic faith centered on the worship of Lord Krishna.
Madhavdeva contributed significantly to Assamese literature and culture through his devotional songs and writings. His works, including the famous Namghosa, emphasize the importance of devotion and community worship. He played a crucial role in spreading the teachings of Vaishnavism in Assam, fostering a sense of unity and spiritual awakening among the people.
