Madeline Astor
Madeline Astor was an American socialite born on June 19, 1893, in New York City. She gained fame as the wife of John Jacob Astor IV, a wealthy businessman and real estate developer. The couple married in 1911, and their son, John Jacob Astor VI, was born in 1912.
Madeline Astor is also known for her survival of the Titanic disaster in 1912. She was pregnant at the time and was one of the few women rescued from the sinking ship. After the tragedy, she remarried and lived a relatively private life until her death on March 27, 1940.
