MacArthur Fellowship
The MacArthur Fellowship, often referred to as the "Genius Grant," is an award given annually by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. It recognizes individuals who have shown exceptional creativity and potential in their respective fields, including the arts, sciences, and social justice. Recipients receive a no-strings-attached grant, allowing them to pursue their work without financial constraints.
Established in 1981, the fellowship aims to support innovative thinkers and doers who are making significant contributions to society. Each year, around 20 to 30 fellows are selected, and the award is intended to encourage their continued creativity and impact.
