Lyudmila Pavlichenko
Lyudmila Pavlichenko was a Soviet sniper during World War II, known for her exceptional marksmanship. Born on July 12, 1916, in Bila Tserkva, Ukraine, she joined the Red Army in 1941 and quickly gained recognition for her skills. By the end of the war, she had reportedly killed over 300 enemy soldiers, making her one of the deadliest female snipers in history.
Pavlichenko's achievements earned her the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, the highest honor in the Soviet military. After the war, she became an advocate for veterans and traveled to the United States to promote peace and understanding between nations.
