Lysimachid dynasty
The Lysimachid dynasty was a Hellenistic royal family founded by Lysimachus, one of the generals of Alexander the Great. After Alexander's death in 323 BCE, Lysimachus gained control over parts of Macedonia and Thrace, establishing his rule and expanding his territory.
The dynasty lasted until around 281 BCE, when it ended with the defeat of Lysimachus at the hands of Seleucus I Nicator. The Lysimachid rulers were known for their military prowess and efforts to consolidate power in the region, contributing to the complex political landscape of the Hellenistic period.
