Lucio Fulci was an Italian film director, screenwriter, and actor, best known for his work in the horror genre. Born on June 17, 1927, in Rome, he gained fame in the 1970s and 1980s for his distinctive style, which often included graphic violence and surreal imagery. Some of his most notable films include Zombie, The Beyond, and City of the Living Dead.
Fulci's films often explored themes of death and the supernatural, earning him a cult following among horror enthusiasts. Despite facing criticism for their explicit content, his works have been influential in the genre, and he is often referred to as the "Godfather of Gore." He passed away on March 13, 1996.
