Louisville Female High School
Louisville Female High School was established in 1856 in Louisville, Kentucky. It was one of the first public high schools for girls in the United States, providing educational opportunities at a time when such options were limited. The school aimed to empower young women through a comprehensive curriculum that included academics, arts, and physical education.
In 1975, the school merged with Male High School to form Louisville Male High School, which now serves both male and female students. The legacy of Louisville Female High School continues to influence education in the region, promoting gender equality in academic settings.
