Louis-Nicolas Davout
Louis-Nicolas Davout was a prominent French military leader during the Napoleonic Wars. Born on May 10, 1770, he rose through the ranks to become one of Napoleon Bonaparte's most trusted marshals. Known for his strategic brilliance and discipline, Davout played a crucial role in several key battles, including the Battle of Austerlitz and the Battle of Borodino.
Davout was also recognized for his ability to command large armies effectively. He was the only marshal to earn the title of "Prince of Eckmühl" for his victory at the Battle of Eckmühl in 1809. His military career was marked by loyalty to Napoleon, and he continued to serve until the end of the empire.
