Lost-Wax Casting
Lost-wax casting is a metal casting process that involves creating a model of the desired object using wax. This model is then covered with a heat-resistant material to form a mold. Once the mold is set, the wax is melted and drained away, leaving a hollow cavity in the shape of the original model.
Next, molten metal is poured into the mold to create the final object. After the metal cools and solidifies, the mold is broken away, revealing the finished piece. This technique is widely used for making intricate designs in jewelry and sculptures.
