Los Pensionados
Los Pensionados refers to a group of Filipino students who were sent to the United States in the early 1900s to study. This initiative was part of the American colonial government's efforts to educate young Filipinos and promote American values. The program aimed to create a new generation of leaders who would help govern the Philippines.
The students, often called "pensionados," received scholarships to attend American schools and universities. Upon their return to the Philippines, many of them took on significant roles in government, education, and other sectors, influencing the country's development during the early 20th century.
