Lorius lory
The Lorius lory, commonly known as the red lory, is a small parrot native to the tropical rainforests of Indonesia and surrounding islands. It has vibrant red plumage, with blue and green accents on its wings and tail. These birds are known for their strong, curved beaks, which they use to feed primarily on fruits, nectar, and flowers.
Red lories are social creatures, often found in small flocks. They are known for their playful behavior and vocalizations, making them popular pets. However, their habitat is threatened by deforestation and the pet trade, leading to concerns about their conservation status in the wild.
