Lorenzo Ghiberti
Lorenzo Ghiberti was an Italian sculptor and goldsmith, best known for his work during the early Renaissance. He was born in 1378 in Florence and gained fame for his bronze doors for the Baptistery of Florence, known as the "Gates of Paradise." These doors feature intricate reliefs depicting biblical scenes and showcase Ghiberti's skill in perspective and human anatomy.
Ghiberti's artistic contributions extended beyond the doors; he also created statues and worked on various architectural projects. His techniques influenced many artists, including Donatello and Michelangelo, and he played a significant role in the development of Renaissance art in Italy.
