Lord Leverhulme
Lord Leverhulme, born William Hesketh Lever in 1851, was a British industrialist and philanthropist known for founding the Lever Brothers company, which produced Sunlight Soap. His innovative business practices and marketing strategies helped revolutionize the soap industry in the late 19th century.
Leverhulme was also a notable figure in social reform, advocating for better working conditions and housing for his employees. He established the model village of Port Sunlight in Cheshire, designed to provide a healthy and pleasant living environment for workers. His contributions to industry and society earned him a peerage in 1911.
