Lord Effingham's Regiment
Lord Effingham's Regiment was a British infantry regiment formed in 1756 during the Seven Years' War. It was named after its first colonel, Lord Effingham, and was known for its distinctive uniforms and disciplined soldiers. The regiment primarily served in North America, participating in various battles and campaigns against French forces.
The regiment was disbanded in 1763 after the war ended, but it left a legacy of bravery and service. Many of its soldiers went on to serve in other regiments or returned to civilian life, contributing to the growing population of British settlers in North America.
