Lola ya Bonobo
Lola ya Bonobo is a sanctuary located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of bonobos, a species of great ape closely related to chimpanzees. The sanctuary provides a safe haven for orphaned and rescued bonobos, offering them a natural environment to live and thrive while promoting their conservation.
Founded in 2008, Lola ya Bonobo aims to raise awareness about the threats facing bonobos, such as habitat loss and poaching. The sanctuary also engages in educational programs to inform the public about the importance of protecting these endangered animals and their habitats in the Congo Basin.
