Loggerhead
The Loggerhead is a large sea turtle known for its distinctive heart-shaped shell and strong jaws. It can weigh up to 400 pounds and is primarily found in warm ocean waters around the world. Loggerheads are omnivorous, feeding on a diet that includes jellyfish, crustaceans, and other marine organisms.
These turtles are known for their long migrations, often traveling thousands of miles between feeding and nesting sites. Loggerheads are classified as vulnerable due to threats such as habitat loss, pollution, and entanglement in fishing gear. Conservation efforts are in place to protect their populations and nesting habitats.
