Locos
Locos are a type of large, flightless bird native to the Galápagos Islands. They are known for their unique appearance, featuring long necks, webbed feet, and a distinctive blue bill. Locos are excellent swimmers and are often seen diving for fish in the ocean. They primarily feed on small marine animals, making them well-adapted to their coastal habitats.
These birds are also notable for their social behavior, often found in pairs or small groups. Locos engage in elaborate courtship displays, which include vocalizations and physical movements. Their populations are closely monitored due to their limited range and the potential threats from invasive species.
