Liver Metastasis
Liver metastasis refers to the spread of cancer cells from a primary tumor in another part of the body to the liver. This condition often occurs when cancer cells travel through the bloodstream or lymphatic system. Common cancers that can lead to liver metastasis include breast cancer, colon cancer, and lung cancer.
When cancer spreads to the liver, it can disrupt the organ's normal functions, leading to symptoms such as jaundice, abdominal pain, and weight loss. Diagnosis typically involves imaging tests like CT scans or MRIs, and treatment options may include surgery, chemotherapy, or targeted therapies.
