Little Bighorn
The Battle of Little Bighorn took place on June 25-26, 1876, in present-day Montana. It was a significant conflict between the United States Army, led by Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer, and a coalition of Native American tribes, primarily the Lakota Sioux and Northern Cheyenne. The battle was part of the larger Great Sioux War and arose from tensions over land and resources.
Custer's forces were vastly outnumbered, facing thousands of Native warriors. The battle ended in a decisive victory for the Native American tribes, resulting in the death of Custer and many of his men. This event is often referred to as "Custer's Last Stand" and remains a pivotal moment in American history.
