Lithuanian-American
"Lithuanian-American" refers to individuals of Lithuanian descent who reside in the United States. This community has roots dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries when many Lithuanians immigrated to the U.S. in search of better economic opportunities and to escape political unrest in their homeland.
Today, Lithuanian-Americans contribute to the cultural diversity of the U.S. They often celebrate their heritage through festivals, traditional foods, and organizations such as the Lithuanian American Community. Prominent figures in this community include Raimondas Šukys, a notable author, and Dalia Grybauskaitė, a former President of Lithuania.
