Lithuanian Regions
Lithuania is divided into five main regions: Aukštaitija, Žemaitija, Suvalkija, Dzūkija, and Klaipėda. Each region has its own unique cultural and historical significance, with distinct traditions, dialects, and landscapes. For example, Aukštaitija is known for its lakes and forests, while Žemaitija is recognized for its rich agricultural land.
The capital city, Vilnius, is located in the Aukštaitija region and serves as the political and cultural center of the country. Klaipėda, situated on the Baltic Sea, is the only port city and plays a crucial role in trade and tourism. Each region contributes to Lithuania's diverse identity.
