Link Layer
The Link Layer is the second layer in the OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model, responsible for facilitating communication between devices on the same local network. It manages how data packets are framed, addressed, and transmitted over physical media, ensuring reliable data transfer. Common protocols at this layer include Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
This layer also handles error detection and correction, ensuring that data sent from one device reaches another without corruption. By managing access to the shared medium, the Link Layer helps prevent data collisions, allowing multiple devices to communicate efficiently within a network.
