Lijst Pim Fortuyn
Lijst Pim Fortuyn was a Dutch political party founded in 2002 by the controversial politician Pim Fortuyn. The party emerged from Fortuyn's criticism of the existing political landscape in the Netherlands, particularly regarding issues like immigration and integration. It gained significant attention for its populist approach and Fortuyn's charismatic leadership.
The party quickly rose to prominence, winning 17% of the votes in the 2002 parliamentary elections. However, just days before the election, Pim Fortuyn was assassinated, which led to a surge of support for the party. After his death, Lijst Pim Fortuyn struggled to maintain its influence and eventually dissolved in 2008.
