Ligue Nationale de Football
The Ligue Nationale de Football (LNF) is the governing body for professional football in France. It oversees the top two divisions, known as Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, which feature clubs competing for national titles and promotion. The LNF was established to enhance the organization and management of football in the country.
The league system operates on a promotion and relegation basis, meaning that the best-performing teams in Ligue 2 can move up to Ligue 1, while the lowest-ranked teams in Ligue 1 may drop to Ligue 2. This structure promotes competitive balance and excitement in French football.
