Lightning Bolt
A "Lightning Bolt" is a natural electrical discharge that occurs during thunderstorms. It is characterized by a bright flash of light and a loud sound known as thunder. Lightning bolts can strike the ground, trees, or buildings, and they can reach temperatures of around 30,000 degrees Fahrenheit, which is five times hotter than the surface of the sun.
The phenomenon is caused by the buildup of electrical charges in clouds, primarily cumulonimbus clouds. When the difference in charge becomes too great, a discharge occurs, resulting in a lightning bolt. This powerful event plays a crucial role in the Earth's atmosphere and can also cause wildfires or damage to structures.
