Light Wave
A light wave is a type of electromagnetic wave that is visible to the human eye. It travels through space at a speed of approximately 299,792 kilometers per second (186,282 miles per second). Light waves are characterized by their wavelength and frequency, which determine their color. For example, red light has a longer wavelength than blue light.
Light waves can exhibit behaviors such as reflection, refraction, and diffraction. Reflection occurs when light bounces off a surface, while refraction happens when light passes through different materials, changing its speed and direction. These properties are essential in various applications, including lenses, mirrors, and optical fibers.
