Liga de Honra
The Liga de Honra was the second tier of professional football in Portugal, operating below the top division known as Primeira Liga. Established in 1990, it served as a platform for clubs to compete for promotion to the higher league. The league featured a mix of established teams and emerging clubs, contributing to the development of football in the country.
In 2013, the Liga de Honra was rebranded as the LigaPro, reflecting changes in the league's structure and sponsorship. This rebranding aimed to enhance the visibility and commercial appeal of the competition, while continuing to provide opportunities for clubs to ascend to the Primeira Liga.
