Lesser Redpoll
The Lesser Redpoll is a small finch, measuring about 4.5 to 5.5 inches in length. It has a distinctive red cap on its head and streaked brown and white plumage. These birds are commonly found in northern regions of Europe and North America, often inhabiting areas with birch trees and other shrubs.
Lesser Redpolls primarily feed on seeds, particularly those from birch and willow trees. They are social birds, often seen in flocks, and are known for their cheerful, twittering calls. During the breeding season, they build nests in shrubs or trees, where they lay 3 to 6 eggs.
