Leopoldo I, Holy Roman Emperor
Leopoldo I was the Holy Roman Emperor from 1658 until his death in 1705. He was a member of the Habsburg dynasty and played a significant role in European politics during his reign. Leopoldo I focused on strengthening the empire and defending it against external threats, particularly from the Ottoman Empire and France.
Under his rule, the empire expanded its territories, especially in Hungary and Transylvania. Leopoldo I also supported the arts and sciences, fostering a cultural environment that contributed to the Baroque style. His reign was marked by military conflicts, including the Great Turkish War, which ultimately helped secure the empire's borders.
