Leopold IV
Leopold IV was a member of the Belgian royal family, born on April 3, 1901. He was the son of King Albert I and Queen Elisabeth of Belgium. Leopold IV became the King of the Belgians in 1934, following the death of his father. His reign was marked by the challenges of World War II and the subsequent rebuilding of Belgium.
During his time as king, Leopold IV faced significant political and social changes. He was known for his controversial decision to surrender to German forces in 1940, which led to his abdication in 1951. After his abdication, he lived in exile until his return to Belgium in 1950.
